Am Josephine Toro a Director at Perissos brooks Pvt ltd trading as Perissos Farm in Seke. On the farm, we have livestock and a plant nursery for horticulture seedlings, herbs, fruit, and landscaping trees. We are into garlic, ginger, and turmeric growing.
To me, farming is a calling. When I realized that my thoughts and interests were drifting towards farming, I realized I had a role to play in feeding the nation.
My energy has been targeted at promoting horticulture and I take pride in seeing many farmers who started from humble beginnings growing into big horticulture farmers through our nursery and advice. This also goes for the growth and development of garlic ginger and turmeric industry that I am currently heading as the President of the growers Association (garlic ginger and Turmeric growers Association of Zimbabwe)
Do not be afraid of starting small and getting dirty. Grow as you learn and never stop learning. Experience and knowledge will eventually pay you in farming.
